Delhi wakes up to cloudy Thursday morning, chances of rain and thunder likely

After a spell of heavy overnight rain, the minimum temperature here fell to 19.8 degrees Celsius on Thursday, five notches below the season’s average, the weather office said.

It was cloudy in the morning. “The day ahead is likely to be partly cloudy with the possibility of light rains or thunder showers later,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

The maximum temperature was expected to hover around 36 degrees Celsius.

The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 61 per cent and 14.4 mm of rainfall was recorded in the last 24 hours.

Wednesday’s maximum temperature settled at 38.3 degrees Celsius, the season’s average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season’s average.
