RAJKOT: A silver trader has registered a complain with Rajkot police alleging that his brother-in-law cheated him to the tune of Rs 1 crore in business.
The accused had promised to give 237kg fine silver to the trader and his eight friends in exchange of silver ornaments he had purchased from them.
According to the police complain registered with B Division police station of Rajkot, Kishor Ramani, a resident of Morbi road and a
bullion trader by profession, had purchased silver ornaments from Vijay Vaishnav, who happens to be the brother of his wife in extended family.
Kishor had promised to give back fine silver in exchange of ornaments. Kishor purchased those silver ornaments between June 2017 and March 2018 and complainant Vijay also gave him silver ornaments through his eight friends who are also bullion traders. According to the complaint, the silver ornaments of total 237kg valued nearly Rs one crore was given to Kishor Ramani.
When Vijay asked his brother-in-law Kishor to give back fine silver of 237kg in exchange of ornaments he had purchased and if he fails to do so, he could clear the debt by cash payment. Kishor had promised to clear the debt in a month and a half.
The trader again asked the accused to clear the debt he said: “I don’t have silver or cash currently and will pay you back when I will get.”
According to the complaint, the accused also threatened to commit suicide if he was pressurised to settle the issue.
