Restore the constitutional balance

The Constitution of the United States of America was crafted by our Founders to reflect two basic principles. Governance “By the people” was to be accomplished by control of Federal expenditures. That is why only the House of Representatives, the people’s voice, can initiate expenditure-related legislature. Governance “for the people” limited the role of the federal government to specific “Enumerated Powers.” This limitation was to be enforced by the governing bodies of the several sovereign states through their representatives in the Senate. The Senate had very specific responsibilities all of which were designed to protect the states’ political standing against a tyrannical federal government.

In 1913, the modern progressive movement effectively destroyed these basic governance principles with the ratification of the 16th and 17th Amendments. The modern progressive movement, which we know today as the “Elite Political Establishment,” began the move to tyranny. The political corruption of the Senate has led to the political corruption of the Supreme Court. Do “we the people” really want Supreme Court decisions driven by political party affiliations? The Executive Branch includes the Department of Justice, the “Blind Lady Justice” of “our nation of laws.” The corruption is now on undeniable display. The presence of the “Deep State” reflects the darkness of this hour in American history.

Our governments, both state and federal, have put aside the concept of government “of, by and for the people.” Where is the leadership of the several states in demanding a restoration of their sovereign standing? It is silenced by obligation to the “Elite Political Establishment.”

This 2018 election is not a contest between Democrats and Republicans. It is a challenge to the American people to reassert the self-reliance “Of the people” to restore the heritage of their nation.
