IPL 2018 Points Table

CSK leads the IPL 2018 points table at the halfway point, but KXIP and SRH are hot on their heels in second and third place respectively. Check out the .

Chennai Super Kings (CSK): After a two year hiatus from the League the Super Kings are back and led by MS Dhoni they have been living up to their name, dominating teams right from the word go. They have won six games out of eight this season and require just two more wins out of six games to qualify. However, they won’t be content with just qualifying and will be looking to grab the top two spots giving them an extra chance to qualify for the final.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH): Sunrisers Hyderabad have been the standout team when it comes to bowling this season defending totals as low as 139, 132 and 118. They have proved that no total is too low to defend as they too have picked up six wins from eight games. They require just two wins from six games to qualify but like CSK will be looking to win as many as possible to finish among the top two.

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP): Punjab led by R Ashwin have been a different team as compared to their previous seasons. They are playing some ‘intelligent’ cricket and have five wins from seven games. They need three more wins from seven games to secure a place in the playoffs, but they also have a chance to make it to the top two if they can string together a run of favourable results.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR): After splitting ways with former captain Gambhir, KKR led by Dinesh Karthik have won four out of their eight games this season. They currently occupy the last of the playoff spots but need to win at least four more games out of six to secure qualification to the playoffs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB): After an inconsistent start to the season RCB finally seem to have found their mojo after beating Mumbai with a good all-round performance in their previous game. They are currently fifth with three wins from eight games and have little margin for error as they need five wins from their final six games to guarantee a playoff spot.

Delhi Daredevils (DD): Delhi have given themselves a fighting chance after coming out on top in a rain affected last-over thriller against the Royals. Gautam Gambhir who resigned from captaincy after losing five of the first six games, has left his replacement, youngster Shreyas Iyer, a mountain to climb. Delhi require to win each of their last five games if they hope to secure a berth in this season’s playoffs.

Rajasthan Royals (RR): They have been at the losing end of quite a few close matches and are currently seventh on the points table. They need to win at least five out of their six games to qualify for the playoffs. While it seems like a tough ask, they will be encouraged with the form of foreign recruit Jofra Archer who recently made his debut and has since picked up seven wickets in just three games.

Mumbai Indians (MI): Defending champions Mumbai have managed to win just two of their eight games so far and are at the bottom on the points table. Mumbai now need to win each of their last six games to qualify and will look to the past for inspiration when they rose from bottom place to go on and win the tournament in 2015.
