Car accident causes power outages in Raleigh County

COOL RIDGE, W. Va (WVNS) - A car accident caused power outages throughout Raleigh County Tuesday night.

According to Raleigh County Dispatchers, the crash happened around 8:50 p.m. A car reportedly hit a power pole in the Cool Ridge area on Route 19. 

Ghent Volunteer Fire Department, Ghent EMS, and the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene. No injuries were reported at the time.

AEP was also called to the scene. Around 400 people were without power as a result of the crash. The company estimated the power will be restored by 3 a.m. Wednesday morning.
