Anastazia 'Nellie' Ohorodnyk Formerly of Koppel Anastazia "Nellie" Ohorodnyk, 95, formerly of Koppel passed away Monday, April 30, 2018 at Providence Care Center. Born February 12, 1923, in Sanok, Prybysziw, Ukraine, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Berezniak. She was married for 62 years to John Ohorodnyk when he passed away July 6, 2005. Nellie was a member of the former St. Theresa Church in Koppel, where she was a longtime member of their Christian Mothers Association. She currently was a member of Holy Redeemer in Ellwood City. Nellie was the school crossing guard in Koppel for many years. She was known for her exceptional cooking and baking skills. Her philosophy and her saying is best expressed by "My Child, Love God, Love People." Survivors include three sons, Joe (Cathie) Ohorodnyk of Ladson, South Carolina, John Ohorodnyk of Beaver, and Drew (Mary) Ohorodnyk of Koppel; nine grandchildren, Alicia, Joey (Megan) and Josh Ohorodnyk, Julie (Brian) Wilson, John (Carie) Ohorodnyk, Brandi (R.J.) Frelin, Jeremy (Junior) Conti, Taylor (Andrew) Leavens and Libby Ohorodnyk, and ten great-grandchildren. The last of her family, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings, and a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Ohorodnyk. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, Main Street, Wampum. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church with Rev. Father Mark Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
