The Village Garden Club held its annual flagship fundraiser, Garden Fest, on Saturday at the Amherst County Museum and Historical Society’s Hamble Center.
The event raises money for the club’s beautification efforts in Amherst, which include maintaining the traffic circle’s flowers and plants, flower boxes on South Main Street and the Village Garden Club Memorial Park.
The event also helps the club provide a $1,000 annual scholarship for the 4-H club’s summer camp, said Joyce Hoffman, the Village Garden Club’s president, who said this year’s turnout for Garden Fest was impressive.
