Bhopal: Interacting with journalists on the sidelines of the grand road show, the newly-appointed MPCC president on Tuesday clarified that the decision to appoint him as Congress state president was based on consensus of all in the party and there was no challenge before him in the issue.
Hoping that the Congress would form government in the state, Kamal Nath said “People of Madhya Pradesh would not be misled this time.” Criticising the ruling BJP government he said “Being a Union minister, I know very well how figures are presented. Nothing concrete about the tall claims of BJP like GDP growth in the state could be seen on ground level.”
In an indirect attack on the BJP government in the state, Kamal Nath said “The state, which gets award for highest agriculture production, witnessed highest suicide of farmers. Similarly, Global Investors Summit was organised by the government with much hype but no investment is found to be coming in the state so far.”
The MPCC president further said that “It is for the first time all sections of the society are highly bothered by the working of the government. Thus, the upcoming election is a matter of the future of state, not of any leader or party worker.”
He further said “I am fortunate enough to have worked with stalwarts like Indira Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. No party worker has ever faced embarrassment because of him.”
