DeKALB – The Northwest Suburban Astronomers will host a free public star party Saturday night at Afton Forest Preserve, 1360 Crego Road.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive at the event, in cooperation with the DeKalb County Forest Preserve District, by 7:45 p.m., as sunset is expected at 7:53.They can expect to see and learn about planets, stars, star clusters, galaxies and nebulae.
Attendees should bring a flashlight covered in red plastic or cellophane, and can bring their own binoculars and telescopes, and if the weather prevents good viewing, the event will be canceled.
