Ertugral: We have to believe we can beat Chiefs

2018-05-02 10:05

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town coach Muhsin Ertugral says the Urban Warriors have to believe they can beat Kaizer Chiefs in order to avoid a relegation/promotion play-off with teams from the National First Division.

Currently, Ajax are in second last position in the Absa Premiership although they are just two points behind SuperSport United and Polokwane City, as well as having a three-point deficit to make up on Baroka.

Interestingly, SuperSport face Baroka on the final day of the season on May 12 whereas Polokwane meet Chippa United. With that said, if the Mother City side were to defeat the Glamour Boys while other results go in their favour - they could survive.

Ertugral told reporters: "We have to believe in that‚ that we will beat Chiefs.

"I mean‚ we have beaten so many good teams this season‚ including Orlando Pirates at home 3-0. So this team can win at home."

On the Tendai Ndoro situation regarding the possible deduction of points based on the fact he has represented three clubs in one campaign, which is seemingly against FIFA rules, the Turkish mentor remained defiant.

He added: "It's very clear. Look‚ if you get the driver’s licence‚ you are entitled to drive.

"So what does the DRC (dispute resolution chamber) ruling stand for? If the DRC gives you a driver’s licence‚ that means you can drive.

"And it hurts us – because he’s a quality player and he’s not playing."

Kick-off is at 15:00.
