Cape Town - New Zealand’s Glen Jackson has been appointed as referee for Saturday’s South African Super Rugby derby between the Stormers and Bulls at Newlands (kick-off 15:05).
Jackson refereed the Bulls’ 29-28 home loss to the Highlanders in Pretoria last week.
He copped criticism in some quarters for a controversial penalty he awarded the Highlanders late in the game but has again been entrusted with the refereeing duties.
Jackson will be assisted by the South African duo of Egon Seconds and Rasta Rasivhenge, with Willie Vos the television match official (TMO).
Later on Saturday, South Africa’s Marius van der Westhuizen will referee the game between the Sharks and Highlanders in Durban (17:15).
Van der Westhuizen will be assisted by AJ Jacobs and Cwengile Jadezweni, with Christie du Preez the TMO.
Meanwhile earlier on Saturday, Australia’s Nic Berry will referee the Lions’ clash against the Hurricanes in Wellington (09:35 SA time).
Berry will be assisted by Kiwis Ben O'Keeffe and Richard Kelly, with Shane McDermott the TMO.
The other South African involvement this weekend sees Jaco Peyper referee the match between the Waratahs and Blues in Sydney (11:45 SA time).
Peyper will be assisted by Australians Angus Gardner and Will Houston, with George Ayoub the TMO.
