The Amherst County Fair, which is marking its return this summer after more than 40 years, is in need of volunteers to help out with all different aspects of the event.
Those positions are in areas of parking, volunteer check-in, set up, driving golf carts; working the information and ticket booths front gate and fair office; vendor check-in, clean up, general assistance, taking surveys, livestock handlers, refuse collection and competitions/contests workers, according to the county website.
The fair will take place August 16-19 at Sweet Briar College. The event will include agriculture and baking competitions, live music, rides, local vendors, fireworks and more. The county seeks volunteers from any and all types of organizations throughout Amherst.
