A 37-year-old widow was raped in Odisha's Nayagarh district, following which a young man was arrested, police said on Wednesday.
Accused Lipuna Das, 25, entered the woman's house in his village in Ranpur police area when she was alone on Tuesday evening and committed the crime, police said.
"The woman filed a complaint that he also threatened to kill her if she disclosed the crime to anyone," Ranpur Inspector Girija Shankar Rath said.
He said that a medical examination of both was done on Wednesday.
In another case, a minor girl of Jharigaon block in Nabarangpur committed suicide on Wednesday after a video clipping featuring her and a youth went viral on the social media.
Her father lodged a complaint with Jharigaon police, which began a probe.
