Woods ready with new set of irons

Anirban Lahiri will be looking to get his rhythm back when he returns to competition at the Wells Fargo golf championship.

While Lahiri is trying to ensure that he does not have to struggle at the end of the season to get to the FedEX Cup, where he made the third leg last year, there is also Tiger Woods, looking stronger each week.

Lahiri began the season well late last year with top-10 finishes at CIMB Classic and CJ Cup @ Nine Bridges, but since has been found wanting.

He will be one of the early starters with Trey Mullinax and J.J. Henry, while Woods will start with Patrick Reed and Brooks Koepka.

In six starts, Woods has a tied second at Valspar, tied fifth at Palmer Invitational and tied 12th at the Honda Classic. He finished tied 32nd at the Masters.

Also in focus will be Woods’s set of TaylorMade irons. Woods posted a photo on social media of new prototypes in the bag and noted they were “Phase 1 of iron development”.
