Stray dogs struck terror in Sitapur district when they attacked three children just with few hours on Tuesday morning leading to their deaths.  Four children were also injured in the dog’s attack.

The dogs so far claimed 8 lives in last three months in the area. The agitated villagers later led to huge protest alleging inaction of the local administration to take preventive measures which led to regular incidents. Surprisingly the administration claimed that they were hapless to take any action as the government restricts them from nabbing or killing stray dogs. They said to have formed teams to take action.  Later to pacify the villagers, local police registered a case and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.  The local villagers claimed that just due to fear of being killed by the stray dogs, they not allow their kids to go school or outside alone.

Reports said that Shivani Chowdhary, 11-year-old daughter of Kashinath, hailing from Tikriya hamlet of Khairabad in Sitapur went to attend the call of nature along with some other village girls on early Tuesday morning.  On way some local stray dogs attacked her in which she was critically injured. Her friends raised alarm and the villagers also rushed to their rescue after the dogs ran away. However till then Shivani already succumbed to her injuries.

Just few minutes after this incident, stray dogs attacked Abid’s 12-year-old son Khaleed in the Gurpoliya hamlet of Khairabad when he went out in the village. Khaleed also raised an alarm but till the villagers reached for his help, the dogs already killed the boy and ran away. In one more incident reported from Koliya Paharpur area of Khairabad, 11-year-old Komal, a resident of Kurla hamlet of Imiliya in Sitapur had came to her maternal grandparents house in Khairabad. On Tuesday morning, when Komal was playing with her friends, a group of stray dogs suddenly attacked her and injured her critically. Her family members rushed to her rescue and shifted the victim to District Hospital but she succumbed to her injuries.

Meanwhile three persons also killed in separate road mishaps in Bahraich on Tuesday. In the first case, Shiv Kumar (32), a resident of Rithaura in Jarwal Road, was going to attend tilak ceremony when some unknown vehicle hit his motorcycle on Jarwal Road killing him on the spot on Tuesday morning. The pillion rider, identified as Ram Dhan was killed while Vijay Kumar was injured.  In another incident Deepak Kumar, a resident of Ramnagar locality of Barabanki was returning after attending marriage ceremony in Bahraich when he too was knocked down by unidentified vehicle at Jarwal Road on Tuesday early morning.
