Ujjain: Series of programmes organised to mark Labour Day


Ujjain: International Labour Day was celebrated on Tuesday by organising a host of events. On one side, issue of unemployment was raised, while on another labour class was felicitated by different organisations for their zeal.

Station masters observe protest day

‘Station masters of Ratlam division of Western Railways sported black ribbon on their arms on duty to press for their demands. They observed World Labour Day as protest day.


Dairies distributed at UMC

At Ujjain Municipal Corporation, Mayor Meena Jonwal distributed dairies to newly-registered labourers and handed over certificates to excellent sanitation workers. A health examination camp for labourers was also organised in association with Divine Waste Management and CHL Hospital.

Yuva Manghe Employment Campaign Team celebrates May Day

The employment campaign team organised unemployment day programme at Tower Chowk. In this programme, questions were asked from the Congress, the BJP, the Aam Aadmi Party, journalists and social workers about employment. Vivek Yadav and Rajesh Tiwari from Congress, Vishal Rajoria from BJP and Indra Vikram Singh represented the Aam Aadmi Party while Narendra Singh Akela and Jiyalal Sharma represented the common people.

Convener Nasir Belim said that a large number of youths participated in the programme which was broadcast live on Facebook’s Ujjain page and had 50,000 viewers. At the end of the programme, Joint Mill Trade Union leader Omprakash Bhadoria was also felicitated. Pramod Sharma conducted the proceedings and Faheem Sikaner proposed vote of thanks.

Labourers feted
Unorganised Labourers Congress Committee district president Bharat Porwal and city president Deepak Mahere felicitated laboures at a programme arranged at Sandipani Chouraha.
