Will slap defamation case on trolls: Sri Reddy

Women trolls will be spared of actor’s wrath

TV presenter-turned-actor Sri Reddy on Monday said that she will file defamation case against all those who trolled and abused her on social media for her abusive rant against Janasena chief and Tollywood actor Pawan Kalyan. She, however, has decided not to slap cases on women trolls.

She took exception to Movie Artist Association (MAA) for coming out in support of Pawan Kalyan rather than resolving the casting couch issue in the Telugu film industry. “I am going to file defamation cases against all those who abused me on social media in the court of law,” she said while speaking to media along with her advocate here on Wednesday.

Last month, the actor staged a semi-nude protest in front of the MAA office against the reported casting couch within the industry and local artistes being denied the opportunity to work in Telugu filmdom. “I am surprised that the so-called MAA is supporting Pawan Kalyan and no action was taken against his supporters and fans who were against the media,” she said.

The actor said she would never accept the Committee Against Sexual Harassment initiated by MAA to look into the alleged casting couch as actor Rana Daggubati is one of the members. “Rana’s brother Abhiram Daggubati resorted to sexual exploitation in one of their studios. How can they include him in the committee,” she questioned.

Earlier, she had flashed intimate pictures of Abhiram with her in a television interview.
