Samajwadi Party President and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today called on Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at his camp office in Hyderabad. Both the leaders held talks on how to bring in a qualitative change in national politics by uniting regional parties.
In a Luncheon meeting, they discussed several issues including formation of Federal Front as an alternative to the BJP and Congress.
Speaking at a press conference after the meeting, Mr Yadav extended support to the efforts that Mr Rao is making to unite regional parties to bring in a qualitative change.
He said, if anyone can stop BJP at the Centre, it is only the collective efforts of regional parties. Mr Rao said, he has been in touch with leaders of many regional parties and going to come up with a clear agenda in a month or two.
It may be recalled that the Telangana Chief Minister had proposed the formation of the Federal Front about a month ago and called on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, former Prime Minister Deve Gowda and DMK Leaders Karunanidhi and Stalin.
