Piers Morgan Twitter: Good Morning Britain star in spat with ‘boring rival’ Dan Walker
PIERS MORGAN branded “rival” morning show BBC Breakfast “boring” during Good Morning Britain today, prompting presenter Dan Walker to hit out at the ITV star on Twitter.
Piers Morgan took a swipe at BBC Breakfast on Good Morning Britain this morning.
And, after calling the ITV show’s competitor “boring”, the outspoken presenter soon sparked backlash online.
Speaking to his 504,000 Twitter followers, the BBC Breakfast host Dan penned: “Apparently some bloke on @GMB thanked a Minister for not going on their ‘boring rival’ first!
“Remember @piersmorgan you’re closer to ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ than you are to us.”
Dan proceeded to share a photo of audience statistics, comparing the average viewer figures for each show.
Appearing to hint he had made the remark as “bait” in order to get a response, Piers replied with two fish emojis, alongside the words: “Nibble nibble.”
Relishing in the BBC Breakfast’s ratings, the 41-year-old soon replied: “I’ll put your silver medal in the post. #TearsForPiers.”
Twitter users rushed to comment on the cheeky spat, with one penning: “Lol!! The ratings don’t lie Piers.”(sic)
Another laughed: “Well that told him.”
“That is a deep deep burn,” wrote a third.

Meanwhile, one witty social media user told the BBC presenter: “But ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ Dan…”
The episode saw the 53-year-old and his co-star Susanna Reid probe the politician on Labour’s policy.
And, after the interview, the journalist insisted his questions hadn’t been an attempt to “trick” the 64-year-old.
Sharing the tweet with his 6.1 million followers, he wrote: “I wasn’t trying to trick you @HackneyAbbott.

"It was a simple question: would Labour let illegal immigrants stay in Britain or deport them?
“You criticised [Amber] Rudd for her failure to ‘get basic facts right’ yet couldn’t give me a straight factual answer to this fundamental question.”
But, Dianne didn’t appear to be convinced by the TV host’s plea, as she hit back: “Viewers watching will make their own mind up about what you were trying to do.
“As for me I will keep campaigning for justice, not treating the #Windrush generation and others who have a right to be here as if they were illegal.”
Good Morning Britain and BBC Breakfast both air weekdays from 6am.
