A 50-year-old man allegedly killed his wife and buried her body in his house's backyard in Boliyabari village, police said today.
The incident took place yesterday and the body was found buried by the man's elder son, Rahul, this morning, they said.
Suresh Singh Rajput has been accused of killing his wife Durgabai Rajput (45) in a complaint lodged by his sons, police said.
The incident occurred, when Rajput's sons had gone for work, and in a bid to hide his crime, the accused had buried the body in his house's backyard, SHO, Pedawa, Rambharose Meena said.
Rajput had told his sons that their mother had gone to her brother's house. But today, Rahul noticed that a patch of land in the backyard had been dug and stones kept to conceal it, the officer said.
He dug the patch of land and found the body. It had injury marks on it and after post-mortem, it was handed over to the family, the SHO said.
Rajput was booked under relevant sections of the IPC after the complaint was lodged at the Pedawa police station, he said.
The man is yet to be arrested, police said.
