Bhopal: Union minister Uma Bharati holds a different opinion over the BJP leaders visiting Dalit’s house for meals. Uma, at a programme to mark Sant Ravidas Jayanti in Naugaon of Chatarpur district on Tuesday, said that she does not go to Dalit’s house for meals.
She said that times are over when having meals at Dalit house was taken as an indicator of social harmony. Uma said she invites people from Dalit community in her house and have meals with them. She said my family members serve meals to them.
Uma said social harmony is needed to remove the discrimination with Dalits and backward communities in politics. She said social harmony stands for economic upliftment, social respect and equal participation in government and administration. The statement of Uma has been taken as a contrast to the BJP national president Amit Shah’s campaign of having meals at Dalit’s place across the country.
