Esperance teen pleads guilty to killing her elderly grandfather

A teenager accused of killing her grandfather in Esperance last year has pleaded guilty to murder.

Tayla Louise Perkin, 19, faced court in Perth on Wednesday morning.

She was alleged to have struck 89-year-old Lyall Ellis on the head multiple times at the man's Randall Street home on April 25, 2017.

Perkin was remanded in custody and will appear in court again next week.

She is expected to be sentenced later this year.
