BRIGHTON TWP. — A Cranberry Township man stopped by police while driving through Brighton Township was found to have smoked marijuana shortly before getting into the car with a 5-year-old child, police said.

According to a state police report, Christopher C. Dickow, 32, was stopped at about 9 p.m. April 3 on Interstate 376 in Brighton Township when he failed to use his turn signal on two occasions while changing lanes.

Police said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Dickow admitted he had a small glass jar containing marijuana and a glass smoking bowl, police said.

According to the report, he also admitted to smoking a couple of minutes before the stop. Police said Dickow told officers he had a pistol in the vehicle that he is not licensed to carry.

A 5-year-old child was in the car at the time of the incident.

Dickow, of 3721 Graham School Road, is charged by state police with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, carrying a firearm without a license and endangering the welfare of a child.
