Grandview Heights police officers were dispatched about 11 a.m. April 20 to a home in the 900 block of Northwest Boulevard after receiving a report of a person with a gun and an injured person inside the residence.

Police surrounded the residence and attempted to gain entry, but no contact could be made with anyone inside the house, according to reports.

The police dispatcher and officers were able to determine the call had come from a third party and that there were no injured or armed people in the residence. Officers spent 30 minutes at the scene, reports said.

The resident who lives at the address was away and was found safe, according to reports.

Police are investigating the false report and charges could follow, reports said.

* A resident of the 800 block of Palmer Road reported April 22 her car, valued at $15,000, was stolen overnight from her driveway.

* A resident in the 1000 block of Palmer Road reported April 23 that several items, including clothing, money, school supplies, tools and sports equipment, were stolen overnight from her car. Total loss was $734, reports said.
