Bus stands in middle of towns will be shifted out: Hry Transport Minister

Haryana Transport Minister Krishan Lal Panwar on Monday said that bus-stands located in the middle of towns will be shifted out and developed in a modern way in the state.

Besides, 650 new buses will be added to the fleet of Haryana Roadways, including 150 mini-buses, in 2018-19, said Panwar while addressing a gathering after inauguration of the new bus-stand in the presence of Chief Minister Manohar Lal, in Karnal

The Minister said that 150 buses, including Volvo, will also be started to facilitate the passengers the comfort of air-conditioned travel at nominal rates. The department has got fabricated 40 such buses on pilot basis and this project has been successful, he said.

As many as 600 new buses had been added to the fleet of Haryana Roadways in 2017-18, he added.

Panwar said 22 training schools had been made operational in the state.

He also said Volvo buses plying between Delhi and Chandigarh would stop at Karnal to facilitate the passengers. The department is also considering building new bus-stands in Faridabad and Gurugram where facilities like mall would also be provided, the Minister.

The bus-stands of Gurugram, Faridabad, Panipat, Sonipat and Fatehabad are also located in the middle of the town and efforts are being made to shift them out, Panwar added.
