Clayton Bennett Tweedy, age 100, of Redington Shores, Florida, died on Sunday, April 29, 2018. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Born in Campbell County, Va. on September 3, 1917, he was the son of the late Clayton Burton Tweedy and Marian Cardwell Tweedy. He is survived by his daughter, Angela Hawthorne and her husband, Rick, of Largo, Florida; granddaughter, Danielle Holton of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; a sister, Gladys Tweedy Martin and her husband, Charlie; sister-in-law, Mary Frances Tweedy, of Lynchburg, Va.; and his beloved dog and best buddy, Toby. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Ann Joyce Tweedy, two sisters, and three brothers. Clayton worked in Sales in Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia before being transferred to Florida in 1961, where he resided the rest of his life. He was of Methodist faith.
