GHAZIABAD: It was a "code" of safety that came handy for a minor while confronted with a kidnapper whom she sent packing and how!
Showing exemplary courage of wisdom, the 11-year-old girl foiled the miscreant's bid to kidnap her from
Parsvnath Majestic Society in
Indirapuram using this code, police said on Tuesday. Amid increasing number of kidnapping cases, the residents here have alerted their children to the lurking danger and have taught them how to avoid it using the secret code system. The children have been told to ask the kidnapper - what the society residents call the "secret code or Papa's code" - in case strangers want them to come along.
One such incident took place recently when the girl was asked by the kidnapper standing outside her society gate to accompany him, telling her "her father has met with an accident".
Sensing something fishy, the girl showed her
presence of mind and began quizzing the goon and turned to her society’s formula of asking him “her Papa’s secret code”, forcing the youth to see the danger and flee the spot.
Later, a case was registered in this regard while police are trying to ascertain the identity of the accused through the
CCTV footage.
