MANGALURU: In a sharp reaction to Prime Minister
Narendra Modi heaping praise on HD Deve Gowda in Udupi on Tuesday, the
Congress said the PM has accepted the fact that JD(S) is BJP’s B Team.
Jaiveer Shergill, national media panelist of the Congress, said a Prime Minister who does not respect his own political guru L K Advani is giving sermon on how to respect others.
“Today PM was showing real concern for Deve Gowda in his speech. The Prime Minister today openly accepted the fact that JD(S) is in fact BJP’s B Team. Both JD(S) and
BJP should not misguide the voters of Karnataka. On one hand, Gowda said his son will be disowned if he goes to BJP. And then the son does a secret meeting with Amit Shah. On the other hand, Modi’s heart beats for Gowda when he does not know how to respect his own senior L K Advani. Sincere advice to people of
Karnataka is just to check the condition of Advani and how he is treated by Prime Minister Modi,” Shergill reacted soon after Modi’s speech.
On Modi’s attack on Rahul Gandhi after the Congress chief sought 15 minutes to speak in Parliament, Shergill said, "The PM is so troubled by Rahul Gandhi asking for 15 minutes as if he has asked for his Rs 15 lakh suit. Rahul Gandhi is a youth of this country who deserves to know certain answers. PM
Modi can give Rs 52,000 crore of this country’s money to Mehul Choksi and Nirav Modi, he can’t give 15 minutes to a parliamentarian and president of Congress.”
Referring to Modi’s praise on the banking system in Udupi, Shergill said if BJP comes to power, the banking system in Udupi will become the banking system of Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi.
“Modi sounded very concerned about women in Karnataka. BJP is the spokesperson and protector of rapists in this country. BJP is in the business of giving plum position to those who protect the rapists. If BJP is elected to power in Karnataka, they will protect those who outrage the modesty of women. PM Modi should run an ‘Apology Campaign’ rather than ‘Election Campaign’ for betraying and backstabbing people of Karnataka. If he truly has the courage, rather than firing from orchestrated election stages, he should accept the challenge of Rahul Gandhi to debate. But he will not, because he knows the debate will be his ‘Jumlebaz’ and Rahul’s will be the ‘sach ki awaz’,” he added.
