Police solve murder mystery of 60-year-old

Police on Monday announced that it had solved the murder mystery of one Chandrabhan aged 60, a resident of Khairbana police station jurisdiction here.

Police have arrested one accused Dewan for the crime who is in relation a brother-in-law of the victim along with Shivprasad who allegedly assisted him in the murder.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Nivedita Pal Sharma informed that some unidentified persons had killed Chandrabhan, a resident of Khairbana, with a sharp weapon on intervening night of April 21-22. A case was registered and during investigation it was found that Dewan, a resident of Shankargarh allegedly had illicit relations with his sister-in-law.

Dewan was detained by the police and during interrogation he revealed that he had killed Chandrabhan as he wanted to marry his sister-in-law, she said.

Chandrabhan was a hurdle in their marriage and the accused therefore killed his brother-in-law Chandrabhan. Shivprasad assisted him in the crime and both of them beheaded Chandrabhan with the help of an axe, she said.

Police have recovered weapon used in crime, the axe,  blood stained clothes and a bicycle from them and presented them before the court.

The court has sent them to judicial remand, police said. It must be written here that this has given a lot of pressure on police,regarding unravelling of the mystery and everybody was curious to know it from all angles.
