MANGALURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP party chief Amit Shah speak about a corruption-free administration, but have given tickets to eight MLA candidates, including BS Yeddyurappa, who are accused of massive corruption, said Puducherry chief minister Velu Narayanasamy. "Still worse, they are projecting Yeddyurappa as the chief minister(CM) candidate, who himself has gone behind bars for corruption," he added.

While addressing a news conference here on Tuesday, Narayanasamy took a potshot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's comment- Karnataka hit by BJP storm. He said a storm brings about destruction and loss. "He (Modi) says that he will not allow corruption, but he projects a corrupt Yeddyurappa as the CM candidate. The BJP is opportunist to the core. They want to grab power at any cost." He said the Modi government has hijacked all UPA government schemes, and renamed them after BJP and RSS leaders.

Taking a jibe at the Prime Minister's recent claim about cent per cent electrification of villages, Narayanasamy said that it is a blatant lie. "During the UPA government, 70 per cent villages were electrified. The BJP government has only concentrated on communalism and nothing else. It has misused the CBI, and closed cases lodged against Janardhan Reddy. The CBI is now functioning like 'Modi Bureau of Information'. It is same with the income tax, enforcement directorate and other agencies, which are controlled by Modi and Shah," he added.
