Gusty winds sweep doon, other parts of State

Gusty winds swept over Dehradun city as well as other parts of the district in the afternoon on Monday, something which gave some respite to the people suffering from a sultry hot day with mercury on the rise. Winds were followed by some rains, helping the climate cool down a bit. The weathermen said that   hail/thunder squall is likely to lash isolated places across Uttarakhand for two days from May 2. As per the weather report, hail occurred at some places in Almora, Ranikhet, Nainital, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar on Sunday and Monday. By 8.30 am on Monday, 60 mm rainfall was reported from  Ranikhet, 30 mm from Garur, 20 mm each from Bageshwar and Almora and 10 mm each from Pithoragarh, Nainital, Munsiyari, Jakholi and Bhatwadi.
