Despite the absence of Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward and Jaylen Brown owing to injuries, the Boston Celtics still proved good enough to defeat Philadelphia 76ers in the first game of their Eastern Conference semi-final on Monday.

The trio of Terry Rozier, Jayson Tatum and Al Horford combined for a total of 83 points in their 117-101 win that gives them a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Alli, Kane on target for Spurs

Dele Alli and Harry Kane scored in the first and second halves respectively as Tottenham Hotspur defeated Watford 2-0 in the Premier League.

The win boosted their chances for Champions League action next season as they are now five points ahead of fifth-placed Chelsea, with only three games remaining.

Indian shooter Shahzar Rizvi is now ranked number one in the world in the 10m air pistol category according to the latest ISSF world rankings.

His silver medal in the recently concluded World Cup in Changwon, South Korea allowed him to clinch the top spot.
