Four Finks bikies arrested over alleged kidnapping
Not even blood splattered on the walls of north-west Sydney hotel room could hint at the horror attack allegedly inflicted on a former Finks bikie gang member late last year as retribution for leaving the club.
It was shortly after 1am on December 18 last year when cleaners at a hotel in Vineyard, near Windsor, discovered blood up the walls and on the furnishings of a room.
Strike force investigators can now reveal the hotel room had been used by four members of the Finks outlaw motorcycle gang and one female associate, just hours earlier, as they allegedly inflicted a brutal attack on a former member.
A blunt wooden instrument, boiling water and a knife were all used in the alleged kidnapping, sexual assault and serious assault of a former member of the Finks, who police allege was either planning to leave the gang, or was no longer welcome in the gang.
Around 6am on Tuesday strike force investigators executed search warrants at homes in Hassall Grove, Kellyville, Rouse Hill and Schofields.
Four men aged 22, 24, 27 and 35, were arrested during the operation and taken to Riverstone Police Station.
One female associate was also arrested during the raids.
All five people are yet to be charged, however charges are expected "in the very near future".
Last month NSW Police released CCTV images from the hotel depicting the accused drinking and smoking with the victim, who was seemingly unaware of the brutal attack that was to come.
It is understood the victim went willingly with his alleged attackers to the hotel room, where he was invited.
The victim is believed to have been with the group for around 12 hours, including the period in which he was attacked.
Detective Superintendent Deb Wallace, commanding officer of the NSW Gangs Squad, described the serious injuries suffered by the victim and attributed them to the approximate five months it has taken for the alleged perpetrators to be targeted.
"It's been matter of working with the victim, [considering] the injuries he sustained, it's about getting the confidence of the victim that we can act and will act," she said.
"We will allege ... the victim lost hearing in one ear, [suffered] significant bruising, a fractured skull and also a fracture to the cheeks. He was also burnt with boiling water and stabbed in the knee cap."
She said police will allege the boiling water was tipped on the victim for the purpose of removing his tattoo of the "1 per cent" symbol on his chest and neck, which is "consistent with outlaw motorcycle gang culture."
"When you leave a club on bad standing, or good standing, you must remove all identifiers that you have been a member of that outlaw motorcycle gang and if you don't remove it, they will remove it by force."
Investigations into the alleged attack are continuing, with more arrests and charges anticipated in the near future.
