Police officers rounded up a few "spring chickens" after someone dumped five live baby chicks behind Reynoldsburg High School, 8579 Summit Road.
According to the police report, a caller saw the baby chicks at 12:51 p.m. April 22 behind a building on the Summit Road campus.
Police officers arrived and managed to get the chicks into a cruiser, then proceeded to ask local farmers outside the city if they were missing any chickens.
One of the officers "took possession" of the baby chicks to find them a home outside city limits, according to the report.

* After a report that "a person with a knife" was seen at 3:07 p.m. April 25 behind a playground at Rose Hill Elementary School, 760 Rosehill Road, school officials put the building on lockdown while the creek area behind the school was searched.
Police reports said a student claimed to have seen a knife on the man, who was dressed in a black hoodie, but no adult saw the knife. Police detained a man found during the search, but he was not arrested.
* An animal complaint was reported at 3:47 p.m. April 25, when an employee at a business in the 2800 block of Taylor Square Road reported an opossum was "roaming around on the sidewalk" in front of the business.
The caller told police the animal "doesn't look right." Officers removed the opossum from the area, according to the police report.
* A caller reported someone fired BBs at his Ford Explorer sometime before 12:14 p.m. April 23 when it was parked on Ravine Way. According to the police report, the rear window and the driver's side rear door and window were damaged by the BBs.
* Another caller reported at 2:55 p.m. April 23 her Chrysler 200 was damaged by BBs while it was parked on Slate Ridge Boulevard.
* Officers arrested a man for disorderly conduct at 1:29 a.m. April 23 at a business in the 6000 block of Taylor Square Road. An employee told police the man had been asked to leave but he refused.
