20-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped in Shamli

In a sensational incident in Shamli, a 20-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by two youths at her residence in front of her minor brother. The incident took place when the siblings were alone in the house on Sunday evening.

Reports said that two youths, identified as Umer Khan and Amanullah, hailing from kotwali area of Shamli, barged into the house after finding that the girl was alone with her brother as their parents had gone out for work on Sunday evening. They later took the brother at gun point and threatening him with his life, they gang raped his sister right before his eyes. 

The accused escaped before the parents returned home. On the basis of the complaint lodged by victim’s father, a case has been registered against the absconding accused. Teams were also formed to lay a trap on them. 

In another report from Muzaffarnagar, two Dalit sisters were allegedly harassed by a youth, who eve-teased and made casteist remarks against them. The incident took place on Sundayevening when the two girls were out to deliver food to their father working in the nearby fields, Circle Officer Mohd Rizwan said. He added a case under the Scheduled Castes And Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act was registered against the accused, and efforts are on to nab the absconding accused at the earliest.
