KANPUR: Another gang-rape case has surfaced in Unnao as mother of a 16-year-old girl has lodged an FIR against five persons two years after the incident.
The FIR against three identified and two unidentified people, including the sister-in-law of the main accused, has been registered by
Safipur police.
The police have arrested the main accused.
According to the police, the accused had allegedly made video of the act to blackmail the girl.
Unnao police said that the medical examination of the girl has been conducted and investigations have already started.
Circle officer Bangarmau, Ambrish Singh Bhadauria, said: “An FIR under sections 376 D, 328, 506 of IPC, POCSO Act and IT Act has been lodged in this connection. The main accused, Avesh Ali, has been arrested.”
“The FIR has named three accused. Two other unnamed accused are yet to be identified. The FIR was registered on April 30 on the complaint of the girl’s mother. We have got the medical examination of the girl conducted and the report is awaited,” he added.
Bhadauria said that the statement of the girl will be recorded on Wednesday under section 164 of CrPC.
“According to the girl, Avesh and his friends took her with them and gang-raped her. She has also alleged that the youths made a video of the act and threatened her that it would be uploaded on social media if she reported the matter. The matter came to light when the video was uploaded online. We are investigating the case and soon the other accused, who are on run, will be nabbed,” the CO added.
