Goa Governor confers Devashri Narad award on journalists

Journalists should be objective and promote Positivityin the society, said GoaGovernor MridulaSinha on Tuesday.

Speaking at the First Devashri Narad JournalistAward function at Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday, Sinha said: "Journalists should adhere to the norms and be very objective about journalism in society where there is decline and eruption of negativity."

She said the journalists should help restore peace and stability in the society and thus create a positive atmosphere.

The event was organised by the Vishwa Samvaad Kendra, Mumbai, to belatedly mark The Birth Anniversaryof the "First Reporterfrom Hindu Mythology Devashri Narad".

"Journalists have to play multi-fold role towards the society. They should not forget their role towards the betterment of the society," Sinha added.

Former Editorof Marathidaily Navprabha, Suresh Walve, and Assistant Editorof Marathidaily Lokmat, Mayuresh Walve, were conferred with Devashri Narad Journalist Award 2018 at the ceremony.
