Bentley is Still Deciding What to do With its Flagship Sedan
The future of the Bentley Mulsanne is still up in the air.
According to a recent report, the British automaker hasn’t decided which direction it will take its flagship sedan, which likely won’t arrive until the early 2020s. By then, the luxury segment will have evolved, especially with the introduction of Aston Martin’s new Lagona sub-brand, which will be an electrified offering. For now, Bentley is still deciding whether the Mulsanne will get a direct successor with a like-for-like replacement, or it will possibly become an all-electric offering. No matter what happens, Bentley will always have a flagship model.
Currently it’s believed Bentley isn’t too fond of all-electric SUVs, but a sedan is a possibility. Since the Mulsanne’s replacement is set to arrive in a few years, next-generation battery technology should be available for the British automaker to use on its flagship sedan.
