On Sunday, April 29, 2018, God saw Crawford "Doc" Harris was weary, and called him from his earthly journey and his loving family to his heavenly home. He was the loving husband of Dorothy Megginson Harris for 67 years. Born in Appomattox, on February 3, 1931, he was a son of the late Alma Spiggle and Lewis M. Harris. "Doc" was a member of Liberty Chapel Baptist Church and was a retired Conductor/Brakeman for C&O CSX Railroad. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Johnny Harris and wife, Elizabeth and Kirk Harris and wife, Linda; one brother, Douglas Ray Harris and wife, Kathy; three grandchildren, Nikki Harris, Stephanie Schell, and Lt. Erika Harris, USN; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Schell and Joshua Schell; and one great-great-granddaughter, Payton Schell. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lewis H. Harris; one sister, Alice H. Kelsey; one great-grandson, Jonathan Schell; and a grand-doggie, Mikey. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Liberty Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Art Cavanaugh and the Rev. Clyde Ishee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence.
