Judgment day

The court verdict against self-proclaimed godman Asaram Bapu has reinvigorated our faith in the judiciary which has come under severe attack. The courage and determination of the father of the survivor to overcome hurdles is laudable in the face of intimidation and threats. Such godmen who exploit the naive appear to be having a free run in the country. The government needs to take steps to promote the scientific temper, which will be a crucial step in tackling such issues (Editorial – “Judgment day”, April 27).
