Chessington World of Adventures opens new Land of the Tiger
CHESSINGTON World Of Adventures Resort opens new Land of the Tiger attraction in time for May half term family fun.

Chessington World Of Adventures Resort, in Surrey opens a brand new section this weekend called the Land of the Tiger, which features an innovative big cat enclosure with Europe’s first overhead trails.
Celebrities and their families flocked to the resort on Saturday to be the first to visit the new attraction.
Coronation Street stars Kate Ford and Katherine Kelly were joined by fellow soap star Jacqueline Jossa to meet the tigers and try the log flume out for themselves.
Plus TV presenter Helen Skelton, Loose Woman Jamelia, singer Sophie Ellis Bextor and Taskmaster comedians Romesh Ranganathan and Katherine Ryan were also at the event in Surrey.
New for 2018, are four endangered Amur tigers, Tsar, Kyra, Olga and Kalinka who have settled into the park following their arrival from Sweden earlier in the year.
Guests visiting Land of the Tiger at Chessington will get to observe these majestic animals in a whole new way, right above their heads as the world’s largest tiger species roams freely.
The resort is unique in combining family fun with animal conservation.
With less than 500 Amur tigers left in the wild, the Resort’s Chessington Conservation Fund has committed £20,000 to support endangered tiger conservation efforts, specifically to WildCats Conservation Alliance and a project to develop an effective human-tiger conflict resolution strategy in Northeast China, where the Amur tiger is commonly found.
After meeting the tigers, adventures can then a splash at Tiger Rock, the exhilarating log flume ride in the Land.
Riders will catch a glimpse of the beautiful big cats roaming their enclosure as they embark on a five minute journey through the Land of the Tiger.
The 30-year old attraction, originally known as Dragon Falls, has had a major make-over in recent months and welcomes a host of new adventures.
Tim Harrison-Jones, Divisional Director of Chessington World of Adventures Resort, commented: “After 18 months of meticulous planning and preparation, we’re thrilled to be opening Land of the Tiger, which represents a multi-million pound investment, with more than half committed to our four new endangered Amur tigers.”

Complementing Land of the Tiger and Tiger Rock are four new tiger-themed bedrooms at the Chessington Safari Hotel.
Families looking for the perfect getaway can choose from the Safari Hotel or the Azteca Hotel which features an indoor swimming pool, spa and Savannah Splash pool and boosts views of into the park of the animals.
Prices start from £279 and include breakfast, park tickets and early access to the rides before the resort opens.
For the ultimate outdoor experience holiday makers can try Explorer Glamping in a small picturesque site within walking distance to Wild Asia in the park.
Children will love sleeping outdoors in a tent that offers the comfort of a ‘real bed’, wooden flooring, electricity and wifi.
