YORKVILLE – A suburban school district has warned the community about paroled killer Carl Reimann after he moved into a house located across the street from an elementary school.

Reimann was convicted in 1973 of the murder of five people at the Pine Village Steak House in Yorkville.

La Grange School District 105 posted a warning and a statement on its website regarding Reimann, who was paroled Thursday and has moved into a home in the 700 block of South Seventh Avenue in La Grange.

The house is directly across the street from the Seventh Avenue Elementary School.

In the statement, district officials said they are working with the La Grange Police Department to increase security around the school.

“The Board of Education has been made aware that a convicted murderer has been paroled from prison and has listed his residence at an address across the street from Seventh Avenue School,” the statement reads. “The police department is aware of this fact and is working closely with the schools to plan for increased presence during school arrival and dismissal times. We have contacted the Illinois Department of Corrections, Chief of Paroles, to express our concerns about his residence being in such close proximity to our school.”
