Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that government will not shy away from generating resources to speed up industrial development in the state because industries will change the face of not only Uttar Pradesh but also of backward areas like Gorakhpur.

“This government is working to improve industrial scenario. Uttar Pradesh is a big state and one cannot have an uniform policy for each district. So we have introduced ODOP (One District One Product) scheme under which indegenious products are promoted,” CM said in a meeting with traders in Gorakhpur on Monday.

He said that it is the responsibility of the Divisional Commissioners and DMs not to allow the situation to escalate. Solve the problems of the traders at the earliest. The police should ensure that law and order situation is good,’ he said adding that soon government will appoint 35,000 constables and 25,000 home guard jawans.

Talking about Purvanchal Expressway he said that this highway will connect Kamahria Ghat, one of the most backward regions of the state.

He also inspected construction of Mini Secretariat in the city. This secretariat will start operation from June this year.

Earlier in the day he paid floral tribute to Gaudham Budha in Ravdas tample of the city and elaborate on the teaching of Ravidas and Gautam Budha. He said that his government is working on the principles of equality and has implemented schemes which will benefit all.

Meanwhile, Yogi declared that those officers found guilty of taking bribe would be arrested and sent to jail immediately. During a review meeting in Gorkaphur he said that his government was committed for transparent administration. If government gets any complaint about any officer taking bribe he would be arrested and FIR would be logged against him.

The directives came days after a ruling party MLA had lodged complaint that an officer in Saharanpur had asked for bribe

The officer had even said that he was forced to send commission to higher officials and therefore was asking for the bribe.

CM reviewed the law and situation in Gorakhpur and asked officials to instill confidence among the masses. “We came to power with the promise to improve law and order and we are committed to fulfill that promise”, he said.

While talking to reporters  Yogi said that meeting between Congress national president Rahul Gandhi and RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in AIIMS will not fructify. “Such acts of Rahul Gandhi no longer interests people. They know what is the potential of Rahul Gandhi and what exactly he can do for the welfare of people,” Chief Minister said talking to reporters in Gorakhpur on Monday.

Hitting out at Congress he said that the problem India is facing today is because of the wrong policies of the previous Congress governments.  This is strange that Rahul Gandhi is now asking Modi ji to give `hisab’ of his 4 years rule while he is silent on what Congress had done in last 60 years.

The meeting in Delhi, which was held on Monday afternoon, sparked political debate whether two leaders met to discuss political game plan for 2019. “Whatever these leaders do one thing is clear that in 2019 Modi ji will return as Prime Minister,” he said.
