Heavy rain lashes state, uproots trees

BHUBANESWAR: Rain and thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds and hailstrom lashed several districts in western Odisha on Monday bringing the much-needed respite from the scorching heat. Trees and electric poles were uprooted at several places, while farmers areas alleged loss of crops due to the rain.
Bhubaneswar too experienced heavy rainfall.

Thunderstorms accompanied with squall, and hail are "very likely" tomorrow at isolated places in Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand and the seven northeastern states., said the latest IMD forecast.
