Dover struck for 10 runs in the top of the third inning en route a five-inning 17-4 East Central Ohio League baseball win over host New Philadelphia Monday night.

The Tornadoes (11-5, 9-1) got two hits and three RBIs from Ethan Snyder, two singles, a double and two RBIs from Owen Polandand two singles and two RBIs from Nathan Pfeiffer to back the winning pitching of Kooper Smith.

Layne Perks and Mason Pipes each had two hits and two RBIs for the Quakers.

HILAND 15-13, BUCKEYE TRAIL 0-0

State-ranked Hiland outscored visiting Buckeye Trail 28-0 for an Inter-Valley Conference doubleheader sweep.

The Hawks are ranked No. 7 in the state in Division III of the latest coaches poll released on Monday.

Also in the poll, Sandy Valley is No. 9 in Division III.

Indian Valley is ranked No. 9 in Division II and Harrison Central received three votes as well in the division.

CENTRAL 12, STRASBURG 8

Braden Culler battled all night on the mound and was on base all five times, including four singles, as host Central Catholic picked up an IVC North win over host Strasburg.

Strasburg journeys to TCC tonight for a rematch.

TUSKY VALLEY 9, SANDY VALLEY 6

Noah Love had three singles and a double and drove home four runs as Tusky Valley knocked off neighboring Sandy Valley in IVC North play.

Brandon Loveless and Jared Eichelberger each had two RBIs for the Cardinals.

GARAWAY 13, NEWCOMERSTOWN 0

Peyton Miller picked up the win and Ryan Aleshire led the Garaway offense en route to a win over host Newcomerstown in IVC South play/

The Pirates moved to 4-12, 3-6 after the win.

MALVERN 9-3, CONOTTON VALLEY 2-10

Malvern and Conotton Valley split an IVC North doubleheader.

The Hornets won the first game 9-2 as Drew Hutchison had three hits.

The Rockets claimed the second game 10-3 as Kale Sellards recorded a double and two singles.

DOVER 15, NEW PHILA 12

Alexis Renner drove home seven runs with two home runs and two doubles as Dover scored four times in the top of the seventh for an ECOL win over rival New Philadelphia.

Abby Warther added three RBIs for the winners as Viv Capozella picked up the pitching win in relief.

Penelope Cantu went deep and had a triple for the Quakers as she drove home three runs and Kayla Morgan added a pair of RBIs.

STRASBURG 9, EAST CANTON 3

State-ranked Strasburg pounded out four home runs as it picked up a huge Inter-Valley Conference North division win over visiting East Canton.

Strasburg (10-5, 4-2), ranked No. 3 in Division IV of the latest coaches poll released on Monday, got two home runs from Emma Clark, another from Emalee Nave and freshman Brionna Christner smacked her first round tripper.

Emily Rieger added a double a two singles to back the pitching of winner Zoey Thomas, who scattered four hits and fanned 10.

SANDY VALLEY 5, TUSKY VALLEY 2

State-ranked ranked Sandy Valley knocked off neighboring Tusky Valley for an IVC North win.

Sandy Valley, ranked No. 9 in Division III, got a fine outing from Ari Ott, who pitched seven innings, and was 2-for-2 at the plate.

The win brings the Cardinals to 15-3 on the season. 

GARAWAY 19, NEWCOMERSTOWN 0

Garaway’s Kori Gutheridge pitched four innings on the mound, gaining the win, and hit a monster shot over the left field fence as the Pirates routed the Trojans in five innings.

Maddie Steiner drove in five runs and Gutheridge three, for the now Pirates (10-5).

CENTRAL CATHOLIC 12, CANTON CENTRAL CATH.2

Host Tuscarawas Central Catholic got a lead-off, inside-the-park home run from Sydney Selinsky and the Saints exploded for seven runs, sending 11 to the plate in the third en route to a non-conference victory.

CLAYMONT 12, RIDGEWOOD 4

Allie Edwards of Claymont went 4-for-4 with three singles and a double to lead the Mustangs to a  home victory against Ridgewoo.

Caliegh McPeek and Brooklyn Polland both notched two singles and three RBI each to move the Brown and Orange to 12-6 on the year.

RIVER VIEW 4, MEADOWBROOK 2

River View’s Kelsie Williamson doubled to drive in two of the three runs scored in the deciding fourth inning, in a 4-2 victory over Meadowbrook.

COSHOCTON 6, MARIETTA 0

Riley Conkle was solid in the circle and Hailey Myers went deep as Coshocton blanked Marietta in ECOL play.

BOYS TENNIS

DOVER 5, COSHOCTON 0

Dover cruised to a ECOL win over Coshocton as the Tornadoes dropped only one set in all the matches combined to move to 9-5 on the season.

WEST HOLMES 3,  CHIPPEWA 2

West Holmes nipped Chippewa in a non-conference battle to improve to 9-8.
