Ormond Beach club to discuss creating butterfly gardens

NSB Garden Club to hear talk on city’s growth
Sally Igo Gillespie, president of the New Smyrna Beach Residents’ Coalition, will speak about the city’s “Growth and Change” at the Wednesday, May 2, meeting of the New Smyrna Beach Garden Club, 2000 Turnbull Bay Road. Additionally, special guest speaker, Alexis Oravets, the Club’s $1,000 scholarship winner, will address the members when the group convenes at 10:30 a.m. The social time begins at 10. DeLand club ends 90th year with garden party
The Garden Club of DeLand is ending its 90th year with a garden party. The Sparkleberry Circle will host the year-end celebration from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 4, at its clubhouse, 865 S. Alabama Ave. There will be gourmet savory and sweet tastings, wine, sangria and tea. Admission is $15 and open to the public. The evening will include music, a silent auction and strolls through the gardens. All eight of our circles; Blue Sage, Daisy, Firecracker, Magnolia, Marigold, Pansy, Rose and Sparkleberry will have a display representing the circle. For information, call 386-624-6960.
