Gujarat: 73 people taken ill after consuming food in a marriage function

RAJKOT: Around 73 persons developed symptoms of vomiting, stomach ache and loose motion after having food on Tuesday in a marriage function in Khirsara village of Keshod taluka in Junagadh district. All were shifted to Keshod Hospital.
The marriage function of Pravinbhai Zinabhai Gondalia’s son was organised and nearly 600 people took part in the function. The marriage function was followed by lunch. Guests, who were served vegetarian food with some milk sweets, told the doctors that they felt uneasiness after consuming the sweet dish.

In the initial stages, few guests complained of uneasiness, but as the numbers increased they were taken to primary health center and from there they were shifted to Keshod government hospital. Keshod police sub inspector NK Vanza said, “We are suspecting of food poisoning and the investigation is on. We have sent the sweet dish for testing and nearly 73 people have taken treatment and all are out of danger.”
