Karnataka polls: Seizures soar past Rs 115 crore

With over a week left for the campaigning to May 12 Karnataka elections, seizures made by the police surveillance squads, EC and I-T dept have crossed Rs 100 crore.

According to EC, the total amount of seizures, including cash, alcohol and jewellery, is Rs 115.9 crore. Of this, cash seizures totaled to Rs 41.5 crore, as compared to Rs 4.97 crore cash seized in 2013 polls. In 2014 LS polls, EC had confiscated Rs 28.8-crore cash.
