We need cool heads and hot hearts, says Rummenigge

Despite a 2-1 victory at Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals, Real Madrid is worried.

Real hosts Bayern in the second leg on Tuesday, but the European champion has struggled in decisive matches at the Santiago Bernabeu and is wary of more surprises.

Defence could be a problem for Real again on Tuesday as right back Dani Carvajal is out injured and Zidane has few options to replace him. Youngster Achraf Hakimi is Carvajal’s immediate substitute but he has not impressed this season.

Bayern meanwhile, will need “cool heads and hot hearts” if it is to learn from Juventus and pull off an unlikely victory, says its chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

To compound its problems, Bayern has lost both key defender Jerome Boateng and creative winger Arjen Robben with groin injuries.

Possible line-ups: Real Madrid: Navas; Nacho, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo; Modric, Kroos, Casemiro; Asensio, Benzema, Ronaldo.

Out: Carvajal (hamstring); Doubtful: Isco (shoulder), Nacho (thigh).

Bayern: Ulrich; Kimmich, Hummels, Sule, Alaba; Martinez, Thiago, James, Muller, Ribery; Lewandowski.

Out: Boateng (hamstring), Vidal (knee), Robben (adductor), Coman (ankle).
