Now, Sasikala's brother floats 'Amma Ani', stakes claim to Jayalalithaa's legacy

After AMMK Deputy General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran and his uncle Divakaran parted ways publicly last week, Divakaran has now formed his own political outfit with an office in his hometown Tanjavur.

Divakaran has named the political party 'Amma Ani' which means Amma Faction. He has introduced the party to take forward the actual AIADMK. This decision was taken by Divakaran after he claimed that TTV Dhinakaran never consulted him for any political decision.

Within months of putting together the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam, it looks like the party has met with the same fate as many others. A split in the party has lead to a renewed fight for Jayalalithaa's legacy and this time between the uncle and nephew.

The formation of a new party has caused confusion in the minds of the AMMK cadres in Thanjavur and many of them find themselves in the same position as they were a year back when the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palanisamy and Deputy Chief Minister O Paneerselvam parted ways.

However, the AIADMK maintains that both AMMK and Amma Ani are insignificant and will dissolve in time.
